“”US does provide large military commitment to NATO. But this is not a favor to Europe. It is vital for our own security,” Daadler tweeted. “All NATO countries, including Germany, have committed to spend 2% of GDP on defense by 2024.””
The Ambassador sounds like a guy who is accustom to someone else picking up the tab at a restaurant. The deadbeat thinks his company is worth a free lunch. It get old after a while.
Daadler correctly states that all NATO countries have committed to 2% GDP. However, they always have and most never do.
“According to NATO guidelines, member countries should spend at least 2% of their GDP on defence. Only four countries spent that much in 2013: Estonia, Greece, the USA and the UK.”
