“Former U.S. Secretary of Labor Tom Perez clinched victory in the contentious battle for Democratic National Committee chair by a vote of 235-200 over Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) Saturday. The new chair needed 218 votes. Perez, the Establishment darling and secretary of labor under former President Obama, faced vehement competition from Ellison — a candidate backed by the Democratic Party’s more progressive wing and former presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).”
Good News for Democrats: They picked a Clinton ally over a Sanders supporter. Had the picked Ellison they would have gone farther to the Socialist Left and that would be a good thing for the GOP and Trump.
Bad News: Perez has an impossible task of uniting the Democrats. Dems have spent years dividing people base on gender, race, wealth and culture…. People rejected the parties ideology, they lost 1000+ seats in state races since 2008. While the Dems move Left, and Perez must to unite the party, the country moves to the center Right.
